Erica Fleck

Assistant Chief, Community Risk Reduction & Logistics, Emergency Management Office (EMO)

In addition to having over 30 years of experience with EMO, Erica has also worked as Commanding Officer with Department of National Defence, an instructor of Emergency Management at NSCC, and worked as Division Chief of Emergency Management for Halifax Regional Municipality.

Erica will discuss the importance of critical incident planning and response.

 

Margaret Leahey

Specialist, Crisis Communication and Owner of Margaret Leahey Consulting (MLC) – Communications & Media Consulting Company

Margaret is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster with a successful forty year career in communications. She is well known for her excellence in Government, Corporate, and Crisis Communications. Margaret began her communications career in the Maritimes and became the first female TV News Reporter in New Brunswick, opening and running the first News Bureaus for CTV/ATV in Saint John and Fredericton (NB Legislature) and CBC in Charlottetown. Her expertise in communications has led her to a senior position with the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. She has also served at the provincial level, appointed by the Premier of Alberta to head up a 15-member, high profile, province-wide Commission.

Margaret will discuss Media and Risk Management when a crisis strikes.

So on April 12th, 2018 an annual general meeting was held with a great turnout (see above) and an election of officers was held. Check out who is representing the Maritime Chapter HERE

We also held a draw for some fabulous prizes for those that attended (see below). Congrats to Michelle Langer and Elle Stephens on their win!!!
